One week. That’s all the time we have before District 2 voters begin to receive their ballots. We’ve knocked on thousands of doors and made thousands of calls. And one thing we’re hearing back loud and clear is that the people want more accountability, more honesty, and more transparency from their government.
One issue currently weighing on the hearts of District 2 residents is immigration. With that in mind, I hope you’ll join me tomorrow for the annual May Day March on International Workers’ Day. As the federal government struggles to fix our broken immigration system, people will be coming together across the country to support compassionate and comprehensive reform.
In San José, there will be a 3 p.m. rally at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 2020 E San Antonio Street, followed by a march to City Hall beginning at 4 p.m. You can visit the San José Peace and Justice Center’s website for more information.
I hope to see you at the march or passing through our campaign office. We have volunteer opportunities available each and every day. Please send an email to Volunteer@TeresaAlvarado.com or call (408) 564-6818 to schedule a time to help!
I’ll leave you with this link to my appearance on the Comcast Newsmakers series to talk about our campaign to restore trust in county government.
As always, I’m honored by your support.
P.S. We’re excited to have a lead in fundraising, but we also know that we need to work twice as hard to maintain it. Please make a donation today, or write a check and send it to the address below. Thanks!
