We’ve reached the final month of this very quick campaign. Mail-in ballots will land in mailboxes this week, and early voting has begun at the County Registrar’s office. Because of a random alphabetical drawing by the Secretary of State, my name will appear third on your ballot. Please be sure to vote for me and return those ballots as soon as possible!
If you still need to register or re-register to vote in District 2, you can now do so online. Visit the California Secretary of State’s website to complete a simple web form today. The deadline to register for the June 4th election is Monday, May 20th.
In case you missed it, the Mercury News endorsed my candidacy in Tuesday’s edition. If you’ve already recycled your paper, we posted a handy link to the online version on our social media channels. Please like and share it with your Facebook friends, and if you’re on Twitter, please RT (that’s “retweet” for the uninitiated).
Speaking of social media, I’m excited to announce that we’ve reached the 1,000 “Likes” mark on our Facebook page! If you haven’t liked our page, please do so today, and share it with your friends to help us get to 1,500 before Election Day.
As always, we are looking for volunteers to help with precinct walking, phone banking, and other campaign tasks. Please sign up today by emailing email@example.com or calling (408) 673-8371.
Finally, I participated in another candidate forum Monday night at Alma Senior Center. It’s inspiring to see so many District 2 residents engaged in this race, which will have a huge impact on the future of county government. If you live Downtown, there will be another forum this Thursday night at Roosevelt Community Center starting at 6:30 p.m. I hope to see you there.
If you can’t attend a forum in person, you can visit YouTube to watch a recording of the April 24th forum at Alum Rock Library.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
P.S. As we head into the final stretch, your financial support is critical to ensure we have the resources to run an effective and winning campaign. Please make a contribution today. If you’ve already donated, please consider giving again — up to the $500 individual limit. Thanks!
