Dear Friends and Supporters,
Over the past four months, we made an intensive effort to reach voters with our message of transparency and accountability, all for the sake of providing Santa Clara County residents with representation of which they can be proud.
Through a dozen candidate forums, stakeholder interviews, neighborhood meet-and-greets, phone banking, and precinct walking, we heard about their needs and desires for open, responsible, and effective government. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in reaching our final goal.
We knew this race was a David and Goliath scenario. But I ran for this seat because I believe one person can make a difference in the transformation of government that is needed.
I know that we accomplished a lot through our campaign. We highlighted issues that matter. And we cast a wide net, assembling a true coalition of supporters, reflecting the diversity of the district — county retirees, good government advocates, business leaders, neighborhood activists, county services clients, and so many more.
I want to thank my friends, family, and hundreds of endorsers, contributors, volunteers, and additional supporters and well wishers who helped propel us forward every day. You stepped up bravely and visibly to walk this path with me.
Finally, I want to thank all of the voters who care about improving our community and believe in government as a partner. There is much to do to make this a reality.
I want to wish soon-to-be-Supervisor Chavez well as she and the other Supervisors address the challenges facing the County over the coming months and years.
And I ask that she demonstrate the leadership we need and collaborate with those who worked for and supported me in this race. This community must be inclusive of their energy and passion for service… they have so much to contribute.
Thank you, once more, for your support. I look forward to seeing you again soon!
